“Boston can’t handle me, but if Greyson needs me, I owe him one. I’ll be there.”

Greyson patted him on the arm.

He knew how the man was feeling.

Being mob?

It sucked.

Chapter Four

Saturday

Morning

Chartres

T here was no doubt that Rogue shouldn’t be there, but he simply couldn’t stay away. After the party ended last night, Jagger had updated them as to what was going on, and everyone was on edge.

It seemed that El Gato was a disaster on the horizon, and he was going to make them work for it.

The team would start working on that Sunday.

They’d celebrated late into the night, and he’d gotten no sleep. Only, he wasn’t thinking about the shit that was heading their way.

He was thinking about his wife.

Not having her sleep beside him was not exactly his favorite thing in the whole world.

He liked to roll over and find her snuggled up beside him. Rogue loved placing his hand on her baby bump and dreaming about their new child.

So, when the sun was barely up, he decided to do what his wife had done before they became a couple.

He was going to court her.

Grabbing a ton of flowers from his mother’s peony garden, he headed to Chartres, despite the fact they were supposed to stay apart that day until the wedding.

Then he found the trellis she climbed so many times to get into his room and used it.

Holy shit.

That wasn’t easy.

When he was halfway up, he heard his name.

“Are you insane, Rogue?” Zayn asked, staring at him from the courtyard below.

“SHHHHH, I’m going to get to my wife. Go inside and ignore everything.”

His friend shook his head.

The nut.

As Rogue got to the top of the railing, he climbed over and tiptoed toward his wife in bed. When he went to pounce, she was staring up at him.

“Damn. So close.”

She laughed, tossed back the covers, and pulled him into bed with her. Then, the giggling began.

“I needed to see you,” he said, handing her the bent flowers. They didn’t fair well on his climb up the trellis.

It was good he had another present.

“I was thinking about you,” she said, kissing him.

When the heat went up, Rogue pulled away.

“Uh, not a virgin anymore. We can do it.”

He laughed.

“I have something for you,” he offered. “Wait,” he said, sitting up to pull a pouch from his pocket. When he handed it to her, she sat up too.

“What’s this?” she asked, her husband clearly distracted by her nakedness. “Rogue?”

He shook his head.

“Sorry, I saw breasts. I’m easy.”

She laughed.

“The pouch.”

“Open it.”

She opened the pouch and dumped the contents into her hand. Then, she gasped.

“It’s a canary diamond,” he said. “It’s sunny and brilliant like you. I know you picked yellow flowers for your bouquet, and I figured it would be lovely on you.”

“Oh, Rogue.”

Then, she lifted a brow.

“Did you steal it?”

He laughed.

Before that would have put him in a foul mood. Now, he knew better.

“Yes. Remember the model we offed weeks ago? The one with the pet gator who ate her?”

She nodded.

“It was hers.
